Bonjour! I don’t know about you guys, but I am FREAKING OUT about Disney’s Beauty and the Beast—absolutely losing it.
In case you have been living under a rock, Beauty and the Beast is coming to a screen near you next Friday (St. Patrick’s Day)! From the trailer and sneak peaks, I can tell it’s going to be #amazing. Not to mention, Emma Watson is Belle—be still my heart.
To honor the re-imagination of this childhood classic, the team here at Paint Nite decided to create a signature cocktail for the stars of the film. So sit back, relax, and be our guest!
The beauty is a light and refreshing breath of air. With notes of lemon and rose, this cocktail is not only beautiful but able to pack a solid punch (watch out, Gaston!).
Step one: ingredients
You know the drill! Get everything in order, snap a pic, #PaintNiteBuzz
You will need:
- rosewater (or roses if you can’t find it)
Pretty simple, eh? If you can’t find rosewater at the store, DON’T fret. It’s super simple to make. You just put rose petals and water in a pot on the stove and heat until the water takes on the color from the petals. Easy!
Step two: vodka
Fill a shaker with ice and add in an ounce (or two) of your favorite vodka.
Step three: lemonade
Fill your shaker with lemonade! No exact measurement here, just enough to help cut that vodka.
Step four: rosewater
Almost there! Spoon in your rosewater. You don’t want to use too much, just enough to give your cocktail a light floral twist. I like to add a few rose petals into the shaker as well! It adds a little more flower power, but it’s mostly just pretty.
Step five: shake and garnish
Lightly shake your cocktail to mix all of the flavors. Pour it into your prettiest glass and garnish with some rose!
So pretty! Next up, The Beast.
Similar to the night when Belle met the Beast, we felt as though this cocktail should be dark, brooding, ominous, and stormy.
Step one: ingredients
Same as above…gather everything you need ahead of time for a smashing success! You’ll need:
- rum (spiced or dark)
- ginger beer
Step two: rum
Take your glass of ice and add in a generous amount of rum. Rule-followers would say an ounce, but I think rules were made for breaking. #SoRebellious
Step three: ginger beer
Fill your glass to the top with ginger beer. You could use ginger ale, but ginger beer is less sweet and adds that bite you’d expect from a beast.
Step four: lime time
Last step! Add the juice of half a lime. Save the other half to garnish. I also like to add a sprig of mint.
Step five: happily ever after
And so, Beauty and the Beast fell in love and lived happily ever after. Now, snap a pic (#PaintNiteBuzz)…
…and cheers with a friend!
